On 4th July 2015 Dr. Josna Prof. of Premakanthi college of Education inaugurated Bertrand Russell English Medium School's Eco Club "Prakrithi" by planting a sapling plant in the school ground. All Eco club members gathered on this occasion. The program started with a morning prayer followed with our chief guest talking about our environment and how to use & protect our nature. Then Ms. Babita read this year's planning of the Eco club. The members of Eco club sang a song related to "Prakrithi". At last an oath was taken up by all the members to plant one sapling in or around their surroundings.

The program ended with a drawing competition on theme "nature" and was won by 7thstd student Dhanyashree.

The Eco-club Prakrithi of Bertrand Russell High School celebrated the vanamahotsava in the school premises. The correspondent of the school Mrs.Nisha Laxman presided over the function and motivated the members of the club to conduct various activities. In her message she encouraged the students to start with vegetable garden. She told the students to prepare organic manure by using organic waste. Advice was given to sow the seeds use the organic manure and water the plants in order to keep the balanced environment.

Mr. Ajaya Headmaster of Govt Composite high school Meenakaliya, was the chief guest. In his message he spoke about how could we protect our environment. The awareness was created among the children to plant and protect the green resources. He also told to grow medicinal plant and to create healthy atmosphere. Oath was taken by the students. The chief guest of the function planted a sampling of neem in the campus.

Our children performed a skit not only of flora but also of fauna. The members of Eco-club assured to plant saplings nurture them daily and safeguard the environment. Students of today are citizens of tomorrow. It is necessary to bring awareness of rights and responsibilities of a consumer. Our school started the consumer club 12 years ago.

This year 5th October we inaugurated our consumer club Jagruthi, which was inaugurated by Mr. M.J. Salian President, consumer Forum Dakshina Kannada District. There are 25 members in our club. Our Correspondent Mrs. Nisha Laxman gave a speech on the importance of consumer club activities in schools. Mr. Abookar NMPT rendered his presidential speech. P.T.A president Mrs. Mohini and coordinator Ms. Saritha were also present.

Our student visited various shops and houses to create awareness among the people about consumer club.

Then it is decided to conduct various competition regarding consumerism and decided to visit consumer forum offices.It was decided to conduct a awareness programme for both the students and parents.

The Interact club of Bertrand Russell High School for the academic year 2012 was installed on 4th August. The new office bearers of the school took charge. The other office bearers were also sworn in for their respective offices. The members of the parent club namely the Rotary Club port town Panambur arranged this function in a grand manner. Our club place on record its heartfelt thanks for our parent club.

On 28th December 2012 Christmas was celebrated in Bertrand Russell English Medium School, Baikampady. The program was started with prayer by the students. Mr. Aboobakar kukkady, President of Jawahar Educational Association resided over the function. Mr. Aboobakar NMPT vice President of Jawahar Educational Association wished all those who gathered. Mrs. Nisha Laxman, correspondent of Bertrand Russell School Baikampady said that “festivals are symbols of Joy and Happiness”. Principal Mrs. Sunitha D’souza gave Christmas message to the students. Carols, Angels dance and Jingle Bell dance was performed by the students. Mr. Hasan, executive member of school management and PTA President Mrs. Mohini Vasanth were present on this occasion. Miss Usha rendered the vote of thanks and Miss Saritha was the master of the ceremony.

"Lets get connected to environment"

Environmental day was observed at Bertrand Russell English Medium High School Baikampady on June 5th 2017.Eco club of the School"Prakruthi"inaugurated the day. The members of the club hosted the day.M.shafa was the master of ceremony. The school dignitaries like correspondent and headmistresses were present on this occasion. The children sung vana mahotsava song. Varieties of plants were planted all over the garden of the school by the children.Thus the day had remarkable significance .

Green day was celebrated in our School on 7th June 2019. The programme was inaugurated by the Correspondent of the School Mrs. Nisha Laxman. All the Students, Teaching and Non-teaching staff of the School were in green dress. The students planted some saplings in the School premises.

Plastic bags have become such a nuisance because we as consumers use them excessively even when not needed and authorities haven't figured out effective ways of dealing with them as waste. Logically, the key to starting a change in our community is education. In this direction the Students of Bertrand Russell English Medium High School, Baikampady organised a "Ban plastic bags and save environment "campaign on 06/07/2019 Saturday at Baikampady APMC junction.

Around 50students participated in the programme and distributed paper bags to the shopkeepers. Students told about negative effects of plastic bags on environment and appealed them not to use plastic bags. The students requested the public not to use plastic and also save our environment for the future generation.

On 16/07/2019 Tuesday the students of Bertrand Russell English Medium School Baikampady visited the Korngibail Kantanna Shetty agricultural field in Marakada, Mangalore. The Students celebrated "Kesard Onji Dina" in slushy water.

The School was conducted this programme to educate the students about sowing and reaping in the traditional way. Through this Students learn to develop skills like team building and civic engagement. Mr.Jagadeesh explained the Students about agriculture. Around 135 Students participated in this programme.

Inauguration of renovated block and Parents Teachers General body meeting was held on Saturday 14/09/2019 in Bertrand Russell English Medium High school,Baikampady.

Mr.Mohammed Rafeek,the proprietor of Karavali Marbles and granites ,Kulai and Thokkottu inaugurated the renovated block.

Mr.K .Farook,the working President of INTUC,NMPT Mangalore was the chief guest,the President of Parents-Teachers Association of the School Mr Nithin Mendon and Mr Siraj Kulai were the guests of honour.

The key note adress was delivered by the Correspondent of the School Mrs Nisha Laxman.The President of the school management Mr.Aboobakar Krishnapura in his presidential speech spoke about the "role of parent in overall development of the child".

The teachers of XStd were felicitated in this occassion for securing 100% result for the academic year 2018-19 in SSLC Board Examination .The Governing council members of the School management Mr.Hasanabba,Mr.Abdul Sattar and Mr Haneef were present in this occassion.The Headmistress of the School Ms.Geetha welcomed the gathering,Assistant teacher Ms.Amitha rendered the vote of thanks.Assistant teachers Ms.Sowmya and Ms.Shwetha mastered the ceremony.
